Linkedin Ranking Feature can be used for Linkedin Lead Generation and Competitor Research..
Linkedin have a neat little feature that some may not be aware of…it’s the Ranking feature..
What does this do?
Simply put it shows you how you rank for profile views,a quick and simple metric to show you where you are in the pecking order of your connections.
You can jump to where you are in the order and you can get a quick fix on who is above or below you.
You get a quick number metric of where you are,I’m currently #79 out of all my connections and I’m being told that represents a 1% increase over the last 30 days
So What I hear you say?
Well as a method of judging your effort on Linkedin it has some merit.
Take a bench mark of where you are now and start adding content and being more active on Linkedin.
If the increase in activity is not producing any results then review that activity and make some changes.
I am a great believer in the ABC approach…Adapt,Brainstorm,Change which works a treat for all my social marketing and marketing activity in general..have just started using direct mail and the telephone more as it gets results far faster than social media does…true, try it yourself.
By looking at those at the top and around you you can look at their new connections and see which sectors they are getting those connections from.It stands to reason that if they are active then there is a reason behind it so review what pain you solve for the people in those sectors.
By doing this you may discover a whole new area in which to market to so it’s worth a look…ABC your strategy.
Look to see who is above you and try and see by looking at their Activity Streams what they have been doing to get these viewings to their profiles.
It could be a huge amount of posts that have attracted loads of Likes,Comments and Shares…it could be sheer volume of comments on other peoples posts.
What ever it is try and make sure that your activity is in line with theirs and measure and chart your progress.
How to set up and view your Ranking
It is so simple and the graphic below takes you through the steps and the audio talks you through it as well…keep tracking and monitoring where you stand in relation to your connections.
